The plants were manufactured by Wertli in 1998/2000 and are briefly described as follows:-

2 IDENTICAL MACHINES each as follows:

2 Strip Operation - each strip 450mm x 15-16mm

Output approximately 1000kg/hr per plant

Average Annual Output, cast 6962 tonnes

Average Annual Output, milled 6100-6400 tonnes

Each Line comprises Cyrus Material Elevator, Cyrus CK Batching Machine, Tandem MF Crucible (coreless induction) furnace; Wertli Holding & Casting Furnace; Wertli Secondary Strip Cooling; Wertli Tandem Strip Puller; Wertli Travelling Hydraulic Plate Shear; Surface Miller; 2 Synchronised Coilers; Cabinet Control Systems etc

1 CONTINUOUS CASTING PLANT FOR 2 STRIP OR SINGLE STRIP OPERATION as follows:

2 Strip - each 450mm x 15-16mm

1 Strip - 1000mm x 18-20mm

The Line has a similar layout to the 2 above except for differences in the Travelling Hydraulic Plate Shear and the Synchronised Coiler

The Casting Lines have been decommissioned by Deutsche Nickel but remain In-Situ in the Cast House and can be inspected by appointment
