A Complete Parcel of Natural Gas Transmission and Heating Equipment

In 1998 a plan was approved to convert the Drakelow Electricity Power Station near Burton on Trent, England from coal burning to natural gas. The plan required natural gas to be brought from the trunk main approximately 8 miles away to Drakelow where the gas would be preheated before burning in the Power Station.

All equipment necessary to transport and reheat the gas was purchased and delivered to site but then ownership of the Power Station changed hands and the project was cancelled. The gas transmission pipes were disposed of but all other equipment remains - unused and generally in as new condition. Original cost was approximately GBP 6 million excluding the pipes.

This equipment is now available as a whole or piecemeal and is suitable for a wide range of gas transmission projects. Alternatively, the Boiler Houses and Hot Water Boilers would readily adapt for alternative applications such as central heating/hot water for large commercial buildings, community projects etc.

The assets are available with all test certificates and documents and include:-

2 x Potterton Purpose Built Prefabricated Sectional Boiler Houses each 16m x 18m
Each Boiler House contains the following:

- Natural Gas Fired
- Input 868kw LCV or 964kw HCV
- Output 800kw
- Total Output per Boiler House 7032kw
- Max Waterside Pressure 8 bar
- Max Temperature 90°C
- Manufactured 1998 - unused with all certification
